Vintage Volkswagen cruise to Mr. Frosty's in Denton, Tx. Here's a little of what I saw.

These photos were taken at the end of a VW cruise, so everything came in under its own power. It was great to see this much old iron in motion and hear all those flat fours. There were dubs from all over, one owner said he drove in from Duncanville. That's nearly an hour drive! 

Plenty of gorgeous bugs were in attendance.

VW wasn't the only flavor of German auto. This BMW 1600 ti was spotless inside and out.

This bug was a looker and was basically stock from what I could tell except for the altitude adjustment. 

The sense of humor about performance is pervasive among vintage VW owners, but don't take my word for it just read some bumper stickers.

This well sorted early beetle looks sharp with it's oval window but that exhaust makes me think there's something special under the hood.

This camper was nice! I love the fog lamps and roof racks. Car bras are usually loathsome things that ruin the looks of whatever they're strapped to. This one however was matched to the car perfectly. It serves the purpose of protection and looks great!

The convertibles were represented too. 

Last weekend was the Denton Kiwanis Classic Car Show. This event was held just off the Denton square in the parking lot of the Daybreak care center. There was food and a live band and a for a smaller show there was some unique stuff there.

 I took the photos for this show with my camera in manual mode. Manual focus, aperture, exposure etc. This was a frustrating experience to say the least. I thought I was all set to shoot and went snapping away. Half my pictures ended up looking like this. SO, I learned a couple lessons about photography the hard way, and in turn learned a little about photoshop.

After I figured it out I managed to get a couple more shots in before my batteries died. This is not my shining moment as a photographer but here's what I could salvage

I've seen this old Ford around town. It's driven by a young lady who obviously has her priorities straight. Killer color and so classy.

This Flathead powered midget racer was on a trailer behind a clean '55 Chevy. I

This Ford 500 was one of a pair of 60's era show-car inspired rides present at the show. Dig the long'n'low stance, white tuck and roll interior and that bad ass lace and panel paint job on the roof.

This was the other half of the pair. It ticked all the boxes for a killer kustom. Shaved, slammed and frenched, this one featured some ghost scallops in the paint.

There was also some more modern stuff present like this 5.0 Mustang and SS Camaro with a polished supercharger.

There was a slick second generation Camaro powered by a 383 and Texas.

Arguably one of the best looking automotive posteriors ever.

You've got to stay cool and hydrated during parking lot shows in the Texas summer. Some folks didn't make it. 

While my day didn't go as bad a this guy's, it was pretty rough due to my inexperience with photography. I photoshopped all of what you see here the best I could with my current skill level and image I had to work with.
